Letter to Parliament on ICJ

yesterday, the Dutch Parliament debates climate and energy under a new legal reality. In our letter to the Committee on Climate and Green Growth, we set out why current Dutch policy violates international obligations. The International Court of Justice has made clear that states must align with the 1.5 °C limit. That means: no new fossil projects, a stronger Climate Act, and urgent action to protect people and future generations. In the debate, the minister of Climate and Green Growth has promised to respond to the advisory opinion and the concerns mentioned in our letter.
